I believe that you would use the Digestive System (Gastrointestinal System in CPT). If you are not sure, ask the physician.

Thank you .
I was looking for " In E and M , 1997 guidelines , the single organ system examinations recognized by CPT .
I found only the following systems.
( 1 ) Cardiovascular Exam ( 2 )Genitourinary exam ( 3 ) Ear, Nose, Mouth & Throat Exam ( 4 ) Eye Exam ( 5 ) Hematologic /Lymphatic/Immunologic Exam ( 6 ) Musculoskeletal Exam ( 7 ) Neurologic Exam ( 8 ) Psychiatric exam ( 9 ) Respiratory Exam ( 10 ) Skin Exam .
I didn't find Gastrointestinal System .
I don't know which system I should use ( E and M , 1997 guidelines ) for the encounter " General Surgeon seeing a case of Acute appendicitis in Outpatient Clinic "

In the E/M section of the 2013 CPT manual, the Gastrointestinal System is found on page 7 under the heading, System Review (Review of Systems). It can also be found on page 10 in the 2013 CPT at the top of the left column starting with this sentence: For the purpose of these CPT definitions, the following organ systems are recognized.
