Posterior Auricular Lesion

Where would you code a Posterior Auricular Lesion? Face, Ear, or Scalp?? Thank you.

That would be the back of the ear to my way of thinking. If you Google auricular lesion or even hematoma it always shows the ear.

I think I am seeing a turn in the tide for negative responses to ICD-10-CM. The coding is easier. The transition is what is going to be daunting for some. Your employer is smart to have you working in it now. If you learn something you want to share please jump in and do so. I learned some new stuff today on gastric ulcers in ICD-10-CM.

They may get the award for being proactive, but if the Providers do not get the necessary training it is going to be very hard to code ICD 10. I do believe there is something set up but I just hope that things go well for all involved. Coding for a Rural Health Clinic can be tricky in itself.

I am looking forward to going along with practice runs in March, but a little scared all at once. There are no real coding meetings or groups around where I live. I would have to drive 2 hours or more. So I try to get the most out of the information that you have provided. I just wish that I could afford to go to your meeting in Florida, that would be so amazing. Plus it would be nice to get out of the this frozen tundra in Minnesota.

There are 4 hospitals within a 60 mile radius from where I work. There is also a hospital that is connected to the clinic that i work at. There are 5 clinic coders, 2 outpatient surgical coders, and 3 inpatient/hospital coders. The closest Chapter from where I live is 1 1/2 drive, hard to get to anything in the winter time. Just to cold, ( at least this winter has been horrible).
