Laparoscopic Cholecystectomy, with or without ERCP

I'm trying to figure out how CPT and especially DRG codes differ between a patient with laparoscopic cholecystectomy, and a patient with lap chole + ERCP. Any thoughts?

Hi Ken,

I'm not sure what you're looking for exactly. You mention DRG but that is for diagnoses but you were asking about cholecystectomy procedures. Can you be more specific about what you're looking for. Here are some procedure codes that you could look up to compare RVU values to see what is considered more extensive than the other

47532 - Laparoscopy, surgical cholecystectomy
47600 - Cholecystectomy
43260 - Endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP); diagnostic, including collection of specimen(s) by brushing or washing, when performed (separate procedure)
