Interview on Monday, March 18

So I took a chance and responded to a remote coding position for Certified Coder or HCC coder. A recruiting company is starting the hiring process and they had a direct line to the recruiter so I called and told him that I was a CPC-A and had not had on the job experience yet. He told me that was fine as long as I was certified.

He sent me two assessments one for CPT coding and one for ICD-9. I passed both of them in the 90th percentiles. The job advertisement stated that everyone would be given an HCC coding assessment. So at this point I'm not sure if I will be taking another assessment if my interview goes well. The job description said HCC coding experience was not required but preferred.

So my question is what might an HCC coding assessment look like and is there any place I can look up information?

I am also a CPC-A. What is the name of the recruiting company and are they still hiring? Thanks!

Carolyn, the position was advertised on CareerBuilder as Medical Coder/HCC coder as a remote position. The job originates in Phoenix and requires a week of onsite training. I contacted Clarence Hurd with Office Team (602) 954-2270.
