I would like to learn more about add-on code 38900 & its application.
What constitutes "intraoperative identification." Also, looks like this code can be charged with or without injection of non-radioactive dye.
Can someone give me some examples of wording I should be looking for in the surgeon's op rpt?
I am seeing some breast surgeries where the radiology dept injects radioactive dye, the patient is then transferred to the operating room where the surgeon may or may not inject non-radioactive dye and then uses a gamma probe to locate sentinel lymphnodes. Does this meet the requirements for 38900?
