Can you tell me if it is a good ideal as far as studying to take the CPC exam next year to purchase the 2014 ICD-10-CM draft as well as the 2014 physician bundle 1 on the AAPC website?

Thanks so much,
Anna
I just want to make sure if it was a good ideal or not.

I can tell you that is an excellent idea. In fact I was going to do that myself but I have the 2013 draft already and didn't think I would get the 2014. I am ashamed to say I have not ordered my 2014 manuals yet. That means I am behind in getting them Bubbled and Highlighted.

In 2014 there will be lots of resources for ICD-10 so it is a good idea to have the draft ready. No need to wait on it.

I ordered and received the 2014 books for ICD-9, CPT, and ICD-10. There is not many changes in ICD-9. The only change in ICD-9 is the history of ICD-9 and that would be located in the front of the book. Also, the ICD-9 book will be called Legacy Edition because it is the last ICD-9 coding manual. CPT will still have the labels and they have names on them so you will know where to put them and there will also be some blank ones that you can write your own label name. The 2014 Draft ICD-10 has some changes such as new codes. I have not seen the HCPCS and it is on order. I will expect to see it sometime near the end November or early December, but I expect there will be some changes in the HCPCS coding manual.
