As an instructor for the cco.us medical billing course, I wanted to discuss what our course contains and how it works. I am frequently asked this question and thought a blog article might clear up some of the questions regarding it.
CodingCertification.Org Medical Billing Course
The CCO course uses the Understanding Health Insurance textbook by Michelle A. Green and JoAnn C. Rowell. This text contains 17 chapters and we ask that students work through 2 chapters per week, which is a reasonable pace to complete the course in about 10 weeks’ time. The course is set up where the student reads the chapters in the book each week, and then they go online and listen to the recorded corresponding webinars. Then, they take the final exam for that chapter, and move forward. An instructor/coach is always available for questions on course material. To be honest, we don’t get a lot of questions because the textbook and webinars are jam packed with information and are very self-explanatory. Instructors/coaches seek to answer questions in UNDER 24 hours’ time. We also seek to motivate our students with goals such as making it past the first exam, then moving forward to chapter 8, the half-way point in the course, and then on towards the final examination.
The CCO medical billing program is comprehensive in nature but doesn’t contain a ton of “busy” work. We know that it’s mostly busy adults taking our course and they are making time in their busy schedules for their study time. Upon completion of the program, the student does receive a certificate of completion.
The course is geared toward the AAPC’s new medical billing credential, which is very helpful to our graduating students.
