Laureen: This is our product outline, it’s growing every month. We’ve got the Medical Terminology & Anatomy Course, Physician Based Coding Course – you’ll hear us refer to as Facility Based. The Review Blitz which was our flagship product, Mini-Mock Practice Exams – we have lots of them. That was a big wish of mine at the beginning of the year, and now we’ve got three paid versions, one free version, we’ve got ICD-10 Practice; so a big shoutout to Ruth for helping bring all of that together.
CEU Classes (On Demand) – so when you need CEUs you can just log in and pick whatever topic you want. We’ve taken all of our courses and split them up into the individual topics, so you don’t have to take the whole course if you just want to learn about E/M coding or modifiers or cardiology coding. So, check that out.
Laureen: We’ve got two ICD-10 Courses: the Mini Course and the Full Course. The Full Course is the one that just launched with Alicia taking the lead and teaching it live and doing recordings, so we’ve got about 20 folks attending the class live and then people are now enrolling to take the course at their own pace, so that’s going very well and we do have a payment plan up for that. So, a lot of people asked for that, so that is available now.
Alicia: Once that’s all done too, you might note Laureen will try to submit that for CEUs too, won’t we?
Laureen: Yes.
Alicia: But it can’t be done until it’s all recorded and ready to go, so look for that. We had a question on that.

Laureen: Very good. So, the difference between the mini and the full, a lot of people want to know and that’s kind of a hot topic right now, is getting prepared for ICD-10. The Mini Course is using the Carol Buck’s “Step-by-Step Medical Coding” book which has four chapters on ICD-10. A lot of students have taken the course already and then they have that book, so this is a nice bridge for those who already are doing coding every day. They’re very familiar with ICD-9 coding and the guidelines and they just need to bridge that gap to bring them into ICD-10 and prepare them for the proficiency assessment that the AAPC has.
The Full Course is really you’re going to be very well versed at ICD-10 coding, by the time you finish that course you’re going to do lots of practice, it’s for all of the specialty areas, so you can really be able to use that in any specialty. And with that book is “Understanding ICD-10-CM” by Bowie, it actually has chapters also on PCS but our course is just focusing on the CM portion. So, that’s the difference between the two. The first one is more like a 40-hour-type course and the full one is more like an 80-hour level course.
Alicia: Can I just add that it is also doing the basics with ICD-10 as if it was a basic ICD-9 course, so you learn the basics of coding in ICD and guidelines. So, someone that doesn’t know how to code yet could pick that up.
Laureen: Very good point. Then, we do have Practice Exams, for those who have not taken the ICD-10 proficiency yet, this will help prepare you. We do have a free one and we do have a paid one. Last but not least, Practicode is an online service where you can log in and code case after case after case and get your proficiency, level up your speed and accuracy so they have a lot of ICD-10 cases already in there so you can check that out.
