CPT 88311 - block or specimen

I am trying to get some help with figuring out if 88311 is to be coded as decalcification per block or per specimen. I have researched this but have found documentation which seems to suggest both, which obviously cannot be correct, so I am at a loss. I know in the Blitz videos Laureen goes into 88329 with the unit of measure being the specimen.
