I was looking at a coding job that is posted online and the requirements say one must have experience in 3M coding software programs and Epic experience is highly desirable. How can I gain this experience?

On the job is the only way I know of. I guess if you got a job at location A and they used 3M software then you are searching for a new job you'd then have that experience.

This was a question I also had. There is so much new and emerging technology. Along with the computer programs needing to meet HIPAA requirements, how do we as billers and/or coders obtain experience on these different programs? Taking a course is very expensive and some are considered advanced level courses. But the programs and the billing and coding skills need to be blended to work effectively. How can we manage this?

You can't apply for all jobs - focus on the ones you can and it will come together. You may be a coder at one place and they buy this new software then you get trained on it and when you move or decide to leave you will now have that software skill added to your toolbelt.
